Dr The Honourable Nyan Gadsby-Dolly, Minister of Community Development, Culture and the Arts delivered the feature address at the ceremony

A total of fifteen (15) Muslim organizations have received funding to assist in their celebrations for Eid-ul-Fitr 2016.    Representatives from each group were presented with cheques by the Dr The Honourable Nyan Gadsby-Dolly, Minister of Community Development, Culture and the Arts, in a ceremony on Tuesday July 5, 2016 at Level 20, Nicholas Tower in Port of Spain.

In delivering the feature address, the Minister thanked the Muslim community for their exemplary service to the people of Trinidad and Tobago, highlighting the fact that their educational institutions, mosques, resource centres, ladies groups and cultural organizations, have been able to positively impact communities across the nation.

Responding on behalf of the recipients, Farz Khan, President of the Trinidad Muslim League (TML) expressed gratitude, saying that the Muslim community was appreciative of this gesture and gave the assurance that the funds would be utilized for their intended purpose.

A total of two million, nine hundred and eighty five thousand dollars ($2,985,000) was granted in financial assistance to the organizations.
