The Community Education (Skills Training) Programme (CEP) is an annual programme of the Community Development Division of the Ministry of Community Development, Culture and the Arts. The Skills Training Programme provides training in a variety of skills, which can aid in the creation of home-based production of goods and services and employment generation.

In 2017, the Registration for the CEP programme started on Monday 6th March, 2017 and ends on Friday 17th March, 2017.

The programme starts on Monday 20th March, 2017 and Basic Courses will run over a 20 week period

Advanced Courses will run over a 25 week period.

Registration for the CEP classes can only be done in persons at the respective Community Development District Offices. Registration forms are available at the nine (9) Community Development Offices throughout the country.

Applicants are required to:

    • Complete registration form
    • Produce identification (ID card, DP or Passport)
    • Attend orientation exercise

The programme is national in scope and is implemented in all nine (9) Counties in Trinidad.

Venues include Community Centres, Civic Centres, Schools, Churches and other temporary meeting places.

Registration and participation are free of charge. However, participants are required to provide their own materials in most instances. Where the materials may be expensive (e.g. tiling, P.V.C. furniture construction, welding) the basic tools and materials are provided especially for demonstration.
